It's not so bad

Ac-cen-tu-ate the positive...e-lim-in-ate the negative and don't mess with mister in-between...

Pros:

badge picture isn't the worst one I've ever taken (even though mouth looks a bit Bells-Palsy funky)
nice laptop
great pay
desk near window
relatively private cube
quiet office
nice people
interesting work, lots of professional opportunity
fancy Starbucks brewed by the cup to order
all manner of free drinks, food, parties, mandatory fun
completely reimbursed parking
casual dress
work from home options
international travel
very flexible hours
laid back staff
working for a company with (gasp!) money!
desk to home in as little as 25 minutes.

And I only cried twice today. If I keep reducing the crying by half with each passing day, I'll be done by the end of the week...I could probably graph that and put it into a colorful powerpoint slide.

On the whole I'd say I'm a big whiner and though I would rather be home, I probably have a better job than 95% of Americans...

  3. At least you aren't writing a business case that has been written 3 times before... remember that little jewel? I finally told him to write it himself and it never did get done. :-)

Glad you are adapting, it'll get better. You and Bryan can compare "I-don't-want-to-really-work" notes. I think he's cried a few times too.
