The Camp Counselor

For some reason it has become harder to entertain/occupy my boys the last few days.  Suddenly I don't know what to do with them and if I did, I don't know if I'd have the gumption to do it.

Things they want to do:
  • go for a bike ride
  • go to the pool
  • go to a turf field and play soccer
  • go to a diamond and play baseball
  • watch cartoons
  • play games on the computer
  • go out for lunch
  • go to the park

Things I want to do:
  • go for a bike ride
  • go for a walk
  • go shopping
  • sew
  • read
  • I don't even know
You see the paradox.  Things we end up doing:
  • going for bike rides
  • going to the pool
  • watching cartoons
  • running through the sprinkler
  • mommy doing chores while they play Bakugon or Harry Potter or Battle Force Five
  • going to the library and Farmer's Market
  • going for the occasional letterbox

I've fallen and I can't get up.  I know I should be organizing play dates and cool outings, but I'm just...not. What do you do when you fall into the camp counselor slump?

  1. I phone a friend! We always have the zoo, aquarium, etc to fall back on too. Ava is much younger though, so she can't protest that much...yet.
