Old-Fashioned, Soft Pumpkin Cookies

Stephanie asked me for this recipe.  I make these cookies every year.  For the icing, I like to either mix a little buttermilk or freshly squeezed orange juice with powdered sugar.  I also make 'em pretty big (because I am too lazy to make a lot of cookies ;)
